Unfortunately, the rise of online trading, electronic platforms, and open-access marketplaces have fueled a parallel rise in scams. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has long been concerned about dubious courses designed to prey on the unsuspecting. "The CFTC has witnessed increasing numbers, and growing complexity, of financial investment opportunities in recent years, including a sharp rise in foreign currency (forex) trading scams," it warned in a release, as far back as May 2008.
Fair Value strategy made use of in various financial markets. In the forex market, the fair value of a currency is determined based on the economic situation in a country. In order to use this forex strategy, traders must have an understanding about a few basic related to the economy, especially the GDP growth of the two economies whose currencies they plan to buy and sell. Other aspects to be considered include the unemployment rate and the inflation data.

Volume price analysis makes sense to me, and her (and others') assertions that the market is controlled by insiders whose moves can be seen by analyzing volume is the best explanation I've seen yet for why price action forms certain consistent patterns. My previous concept of technical analysis was that specific price patterns form when there are enough people who believe it will, simply a self-fulfilling prophecy, and I could never quite accept that as a reliable way to make money. Now I understand how volume affects candle formation, and how insider action is reflected in volume, and it's all logical. I can trade on that with confidence, which is the biggest thing I've gotten from these two books.
Scalping - These are very short-lived trades, possibly held just for just a few minutes. A scalper seeks to quickly beat the bid/offer spread, and skim just a few points of profit before closing. This strategy typically uses tick charts, such as the ones that can be found in MetaTrader 4 Supreme Edition. This trading platform also offers some of the best forex indicators for scalping. In addition, the Forex-1 minute Trading Strategy can be considered an example of this trading style.
To use an extreme example, imagine holding an account balance of 2,000 EUR and putting all of that on a single trade. If the trade goes badly, you will have lost your entire investment, and because the Forex market can move very quickly, losses can also happen very quickly. This is where risk management is essential - to help you minimise losses and protect any profits you do make. The key areas to consider when managing your Forex trading risk are trading psychology, and money management.

There is an additional rule for trading when the market state is more favourable to the system. This rule is designed to filter out breakouts that go against the long-term trend. In short, you look at the 25-day moving average (MA) and the 300-day moving average. The direction of the shorter moving average determines the direction that is permitted. This rule states that you can only go:
Highest profits are realized only when the best forex trading strategies are employed by the forex traders. There are many time tested forex strategies that can be used by serious traders. Whereas some of them are based on the effect of the current political and economic scenarios of a country, some others rely on charts and numbers that are based on past performances of the forex market. All the strategies that are explained briefly in this article have different levels of complexity. It is also important to note that whatever may be the strategy that the forex trader wants to apply, the best effects occur only when the trader has sufficient knowledge and experience in the field. This article aims to familiarize the readers with a few well-known forex trading strategies.
For traders—especially those with limited funds—day trading or swing trading in small amounts is easier in the forex market than other markets. For those with longer-term horizons and larger funds, long-term fundamentals-based trading or a carry trade can be profitable. A focus on understanding the macroeconomic fundamentals driving currency values and experience with technical analysis may help new forex traders to become more profitable.

I'll start with a little background to put this review in context. I started getting interested in forex trading with an email touting some guy that had a "system." I signed up for his live webcam "learn how by watching me trade" membership, figuring I'd take advantage of the 3-month money back guarantee if I learned nothing. At 2 months I couldn't explain his system clearly to myself, and he was changing methods almost every day and frequently seeming to contradict things he'd said before. I kept at it for another couple weeks and then used the money back guarantee. I then started downloading and backtesting all kinds of indicators and EAs and browsing Amazon reviews looking for a better guide. Next I scanned a couple forex books and a couple on trading in general, and I used Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets as an encyclopedia. I continued playing with my practice account for a couple months, but could find nothing that worked consistently enough to be comfortable committing real money, and I lost interest.
In particular, you should look for a Forex broker that has a major presence in your country or, at a minimum, offers phone and email support in your language. A broker with an efficient customer enquiry and complaints procedure will ensure that if an enquiry is filed by a Forex trader and cannot be resolved within a few hours, it is immediately forwarded to the customer support desk or compliance department.
As mentioned earlier, in a long trade (also known as a buy trade), a trader will open a trade at the bid price, and will aim to close the trade at a higher price, making a profit on the difference between the opening and closing value of the currency pair. So if the EUR/USD bid price is 1.16667, and the trade closes at the price of 1.17568, the difference is 0.00901, or 90.1 pips. (When trading a single lot, that would make a 901 USD profit).

Even if you master every possible method of market analysis and will make very accurate predictions for future Forex market behavior, you will not make any money without a proper money management strategy. Money management in Forex (as well as in other financial markets) is a complex set of rules that you develop to fit your own trading style and amount of capital you have for trading. Money management plays very important role in getting profits out of Forex; do not underestimate it. To get more information on money management, you can read these books:
Currency trading was very difficult for individual investors prior to the internet. Most currency traders were large multinational corporations, hedge funds or high-net-worth individuals because forex trading required a lot of capital. With help from the internet, a retail market aimed at individual traders has emerged, providing easy access to the foreign exchange markets, either through the banks themselves or brokers making a secondary market. Most online brokers or dealers offer very high leverage to individual traders who can control a large trade with a small account balance.
Fundamental trading is when you follow the news for several countries and play the countries with strengthening economic trends, against the ones with weakening economic trends. This type of approach is pretty easy because it looks at how things shape up over the long term. The complicated portion of it is learning to understand the economic reports and compare them to other countries.
Arbitrage is based on the premise of the forex trader trying to make a gain from small differences (of the currency) that exist either in the same or different markets. This is primarily a form of speculation. Identifying the right conditions and employing this strategy is not an easy task. Arbitrage strategy best market participants who have best technology systems and have quickest access to information. Arbitrage is best employed when the same currency has two different prices.
Forex fundamental analysis is a type of market analysis that is performed based only on actual events and macroeconomic data related to the traded currencies. Fundamental analysis is used not only in Forex but can be a part of any financial planning or forecasting. The concepts that are part of fundamental analysis of currencies: overnight interest rates, central banks meetings and decisions, any macroeconomic news, global industrial, economical, political, and weather news. Fundamental analysis is the most natural way of making FX market forecasts. In theory, it alone should work perfectly but in practice, it is often used in pair with technical analysis. Recommended e-books on Forex fundamental analysis:
Locating the trend: Markets trend and consolidate, and this process repeats in cycles. The first principle of this style is to find the long drawn out moves within the forex markets. One way to identify forex trends is by studying 180 periods worth of forex data. Identifying the swing highs and lows will be the next step. By referencing this price data on the current charts, you will be able to identify the market direction.
Leverage: Leverage is capital provided by a Forex broker to bolster their client's trading volume. For example, if you use a 1:10 rate of leverage and have $1,000 in your trading account, you can trade $10,000 worth of a currency pair. If the trade is successful, leverage will maximise your profits by a factor of 10. However, please note that leverage also multiplies your losses to the same degree, so it should be used with caution. If your account balance falls below $0, you may trigger a broker's negative balance protection settings (if trading with an ESMA regulated broker), which will result in the trade being closed. Fortunately, this means that your balance cannot move below $0, so you will not be in debt to the broker.
Wave analysis, also known as Elliott Wave analysis, is a well-known method that analyses the price chart for patterns and the direction (trend) of a financial instrument. The method is based on historical movements in market prices, with the belief that history repeats itself. The reason for this is due to market sentiment, meaning that the market as a whole moves as a herd, and reacts in a similar way to similar events and announcements.
There are actually three ways that institutions, corporations and individuals trade forex: the spot market, the forwards market, and the futures market. Forex trading in the spot market has always been the largest market because it is the "underlying" real asset that the forwards and futures markets are based on. In the past, the futures market was the most popular venue for traders because it was available to individual investors for a longer period of time. However, with the advent of electronic trading and numerous forex brokers, the spot market has witnessed a huge surge in activity and now surpasses the futures market as the preferred trading market for individual investors and speculators. When people refer to the forex market, they usually are referring to the spot market. The forwards and futures markets tend to be more popular with companies that need to hedge their foreign exchange risks out to a specific date in the future.

Determine the profits required to cover any losses: Along with calculating your risks before any trade, it's also worth calculating how much you would need to make to regain those funds in any future trade. It's often harder to earn money back than it is to lose it, simply because your remaining investment pool is smaller, which means you have to make a larger profit (percentage wise) to break even.
For example, if you invested 5,000 EUR and lost 1,000 EUR, you will have lost 20% of your balance, leaving you with a final balance of 4,000 EUR. To bring your balance back to 5,000 EUR, you will need to make a profit of 1,000 EUR. However, with a starting balance of 4,000 EUR (after the previous loss), there is now a 25% gain, rather than a 20% one.
Prepare for the worst: While this might sound pessimistic, in Forex trading it is better to prepare for the worst than expect the best. There have been many times in history when financial markets and individual trading instruments have experienced sudden spikes or drops in value. By considering the worst possible outcome of a trade, you can take measures to protect yourself, should this happen, such as by setting a stop loss in advance.
High Risk Warning: Forex, Futures, and Options trading has large potential rewards, but also large potential risks. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. You must be aware of the risks of investing in forex, futures, and options and be willing to accept them in order to trade in these markets. Traders who understand indicators such as Bollinger bands or MACD will be more than capable of setting up their own alerts. But for the time poor, a paid service might prove fruitful. You would of course, need enough time to actually place the trades, and you need to be confident in the supplier. It is unlikely that someone with a profitable signal strategy is willing to share it cheaply (or at all). Beware of any promises that seem too good to be true.

A spot market deal is for immediate delivery, which is defined as two business days for most currency pairs. The major exception is the purchase or sale of USD/CAD, which is settled in one business day. The business day calculation excludes Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays in either currency of the traded pair. During the Christmas and Easter season, some spot trades can take as long as six days to settle. Funds are exchanged on the settlement date, not the transaction date.

Rule #2:  Winning in forex is all about working the odds in your favor. There will always be a “50/50” chance for where a currency pair may move in the near-term future, but broker commissions will require a “55/45” winning percentage to break even and a “60/40” ratio to be a consistent profitable trader. The ratio has to do with “net dollars”, not trades. Losses are part of this game, but your objective is to cut losers early, but let winners run, that way you get ahead over time.

The profit target is set at 50 pips, and the stop-loss order is placed anywhere between 5 and 10 pips above or below the 7am GMT candlestick, after its formation. This is implemented to manage risk. After these conditions are set, it is now up to the market to take over the rest. Day Trading and Scalping are both short-term trading strategies. However, remember that shorter term implies greater risk, so it is essential to ensure effective risk management.

If you want to get started trading the Fx market on the right track, it’s critical that you are aware of and accept the fact that you could lose on any given trade you take.

The most profitable forex strategy will require an effective money management system. One technique that many suggest is never trading more than 1-2% of your account on a single trade. So, if you have $10,000 in your account, you wouldn’t risk more than $100 to $200 on an individual trade. As a result, a temporary string of bad results won’t blow all your capital.

Knowledge, experience, and emotional control are the same factors for success in this genre, but it helps to get guidance from mentoring professionals, if you have any desire of jumping into the fray after a short period of time. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the book really could have used better editing, or any editing at all. The thing that most bothered me was the size of the book; The full 8.5x11 pages were almost unwieldy, as I like to bring my books to work and read when I have the opportunity, which is usually behind the wheel of a parked truck. It was hard to carry around all day, as it did not fit in my lunch box. Neither of these issues take away from the fact that the information provided is good, the book can be the start to a solid foundation. It is not the be all, end all, but as I said before it is a great start.

There are a number of reasons why people choose to start day trading. Some of these reasons might include the potential to earn extra money on the side from the comfort of their own home, the opportunity to learn a new skill in their own time, or even the dream of achieving financial freedom, and having more control over their financial future. When it comes to Forex specifically though, there are a number of benefits that make this financial instrument a very enticing one to trade.
There are actually many books about forex trading. What’s completely totally different about this book, is the think about these options of trading which I contemplate are elementary. In any case, there are solely two questions we’ve got to answer when considering a spot on the market:-What is the hazard on this commerce – high, medium or low? What is the financial hazard on this commerce? The first is the hardest question to answer, and the book will make clear intimately the analysis and technique to utilize, in order to answer this question with confidence. The second question is additional easy and is answered provided you’ve got an understanding of hazard, money administration and place sizing in relation to your trading capital. As soon as extra, that’s coated intimately inside the book. As a result of the tag line on the doorway cowl says 'What it’s worthwhile to know to get started, and each little factor in between' which truly sums up what you will research.

Any forex transaction that settles for a date later than spot is considered a "forward." The price is calculated by adjusting the spot rate to account for the difference in interest rates between the two currencies. The amount of adjustment is called "forward points." The forward points reflect only the interest rate differential between two markets. They are not a forecast of how the spot market will trade at a date in the future.
